about
This is a casual and vulnerable recording that Ben Loughran and I put together in the Fall of 2019. The vocals are sung without a backing track, the way I had been singing it alone in my car, then guitar and synth were written to match the loose tempo of the vox.
lyrics
You said I was a low moon
Like the one that moved you
Those years ago
In the land where your heart lives
You kept me at your arms length
And told me that you loved me.
Why do you keep hiding?
I wanted you to let me in
I wanted you to let me in
To the land where your heart lives.
I saw you as a mountain
But maybe you’re a setting sun
Always in the distance
Always out of reach
Did our fears fill the sky in between?
Afraid that I’ll eclipse you
Afraid of your bright light.
Did our fears fill the sky in between?
